About Us
Since 1981, RMDSA's founding families have championed a new path for children with Down syndrome, fostering recognition of their unique abilities. The organization has evolved into Colorado's foremost provider of lifelong support for families and individuals with Down syndrome.
RMDSA works to expand its' programs and offerings for individuals and families. Your support helps to provide family services (First Call program for new parents, 24 different community groups, meal vouchers, hospital support, New Parent Packets, over 3,000 resource inquiries per year), Higher Visions for Education (a life skills education program designed for adults with Down syndrome), education support (k-12 IEP support, education consultations, educator trainings), outreach to Spanish-speaking families, as well as medical outreach to educate health providers.
Mission Statement
The mission of Rocky Mountain Down Syndrome Association is to assure inclusion and enhance independence of people with Down syndrome. We will achieve this by providing education, resources and support in partnership with individuals, families, professionals, and the community.
